Hi everyone!! I have been such a slacker with my blog. I have a new job and have been settling in. I am going to make a concerted effort to get back here where I love. So please bare with me as I try to find my groove again. Ok on to my favorites.
I will probably go all over the place, but I will start with my favorite find for my hair – Tangle Teezer. I am sooo obsessed with this brush. It looks like a dog brush, it probably is functioning alot like a dog brush, but it is just perfection. If you ever have issues with tangling and your hair is unruly, as mine is, this brush will tame that sucker and get your hair manageable and luscious. I got mine at Sally’s beauty supply for around $15 and I will never be without it.
Next is my Bauble Lulu bracelet. I found this bracelet at a boutique in town that was going out of business. It is a rhodium plated bracelet for charms (think pandora). They have all different bracelets, charms, and beads. I was given charms on a leather necklace for Christmas and just hated the way the silver charms looked on the leather and saw this bracelet and picked it up for 50% off and I love it. I have to have jewelry that is not gold due to the chemistry of my skin. I turn gold a dingy color and it discolors my skin, so rhodium is a nice cheap alternative and I love the look. Their prices are stupid affordable and the quality is great. So there’s that. (The charms in the horrific Iphone picture below are not Bauble Lulu charms I just was showing my cousin how the charms looked on their new home, so I thought I’d show you too).
For my hair, pre brush, I have been loving the Pantene Medium to Thick solutions Dry to Moisturized conditioner. It has really whipped my poor, dry, pathetic coarse strands into submission. It smells nice, it’s thick and it’s moisturizing. I am , now, very interested in trying the one that is frizzy to smooth. I’ll keep you posted.
For makeup, I have continued to love the Maybelline 24 hour color Tattoos and recently picked up two new colors,
Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal line.. The first color is a blush pink color called Inked in Pink. It is just a sweet color. It is the same color as the pink shade in the Wet N Wild Walking on Eggshells palette. I, also, picked up the shimmery silver color called Silver Strike. I love this color, it’s super shimmery, shiny and obnoxious. LOVE! I plan to pick up the rest of the Metal colors they are just my favorite thing for my eyes right now.
For Foundation, I have been loving the Revlon Color Stay Whipped Creme Makeup. I love the coverage this makeup has, it’s heavy duty without feeling heavy on the skin. I use the color 110 Ivory. The color is a good match for me, which most all drugstore foundations tend to be a bit dark on my translucent skin. I apply this with the Sedona Lace angled flat top kabuki (amazing! Use the code stylefordummies for $4 off your order!!). The finish is satin/matte on my dry skin.
Onto my misses for this month. They are both beauty and they are both drugstore.
I am about to start a storm of you know what with this, but it must be said. I do not like Revlon’s
Color Burst Lip Butter (AAAAAAAAAHHH). I have Creamsicle and I just find them dry. I love the color and the shine, which is so weird that it’s so juicy and so dry at the exact same moment. I will use it as I love the color, but with chapstick underneath, but no more lip butters for moi.
The other is another I love it but I hate it item. Maybelline’s Volum’Express The Rocket Mascara. My lashes look lush and sassy. However, they feel like I sprayed hairspray on them and the brush is soooo scratchy. I am going to use it a bit more and probably do a review to show you before and afters of my lashes, but geeze the brush is sooo scratchy on my lashline. not a fan.
Well there are my 5 favorites and a miss or two for January. If you have any product suggestions you would like to share, I’m in the mood to try some new stuff.
Thanks for stopping by!!
Until next time!!
xoxo,
L
